- Metro Exodus - Uncovered | PS5

Incredibly excited to finally play this. Never did bite the bullet last gen because I kept telling myself I'd eventually get an RTX card. But well, we all know how that is looking these days lol. The new version on PC looks great but this is definitely a level of quality on PS5 that I won't scoff at. And the DualSense and 3D audio support is always appreciated.
June 18th!
ID: gxs0pg4ID: gxs25syI got insanely lucky with a Bestbuy drop and got a RTX3080. I need to buy Metro

This video's footage is all captured on PlayStation and details custom features for PS5 including DualSense and 3D audio.

God I shelved this game a couple years back. This might get me to finally finish it. Its just another one of the creepy af games thats kinda hard to finish on the hardest difficulty for me. Hate fucking zombies but the atmosphere was very impressive back during release.
ID: gxsbg5iAre there zombies in this game? There were no zombies in the first two Metro games.
ID: gxsbvn7Yea in certain areas, like most notably the gas station in the first area and also near the docks. It wouldn't be so bad except they're so quiet as to sneak up on you especially in the middle of the night then horde around you and you run like hell to the nearest safehouse not having enough ammo to dispatch them all haha. It is a really fun game but the zombies aren't even the worst part. Those flying demon things are just full of NOPENESS
ID: gxsgq9fI feel that. I’ve only played the first game so far. It’s SO atmospheric and the story and gameplay is amazing... but I HATE horror. And I really struggled to get through it. In the end, I had my buddy play through the librarian section while I watched (so I didn’t miss any story), but played the rest. Really want to play the 2nd and 3rd game, but they look creepier than the first!
ID: gxslrbcDude it's pretty out there but not as bad as RE series. Exodus does do the semi open world really well. The storytelling is great and background noc dialogue is great. Very immersive game but you gotta play it in short bursts. With the new raytraced environments I expect it to be much darker than before which means you creep everywhere to avoid getting jumped lol. I got the edition with the really cool steelbook with the train on it and artbook.

Now this is how you do upgrades just wow
Fov slider as well yesssssss!!
-
FUCK YA I CANT WAIT
-
Is this enhanced edition on PS5 the same as the one on PC?
ID: gxrz9sbMostly
ID: gxs08deI guess ray tracing quality got toned down in the console version?
ID: gxs0bucProbably not as good but hopefully close enough

Do you have to play the previous games to understand and enjoy this game??
ID: gxs2m2oI played them a long time ago so I couldn’t remember the story at all, only like the setting, the main characters name and the fact that they were all living in tunnels underground due to radiation. And I still enjoyed this game a lot. I think it stands well by itself. I would probably just search YouTube for a short recap video of the other games to get a little up to speed and you’re good to go
ID: gxs2idzWould like to know the same thing.
ID: gxs39zkNope. Its a clean break from 2033 and Last Light, with none of the existing story threads mattering. You don't need to have played those games to play Exodus.
ID: gxs9ux8Story threads relating to the metro, mostly yes, but not characters. Anna, Miller, and Artyom are still going through what 2035 suggested they would after Last Light with their relationship. Also, one of the most important parts of the game in the bad ending, you meet Khan, Eugene, and Bourbon, as well as having the baby dark one follow you for the entire previos level.

ID: gxsa935Mostly yes, but I still wouldn't recommend it. Artyom story has been going for 11 years now in fames and almost 20 in books. Exodus makes references to all of those, and sometimes during very important moments and with significance.
ID: gxsjrnsWasn't sure of this myself either so I brought the games to play before the update. I was quite lucky as it was on a sale and only cost me £4.99 for both games.
-
Hell yea! Maybe this time this fucker will get to that mine without crushing my save.
-
I think all FPS games should have FOV sliders. Some games that are too zoomed in just feel awkward to play for me.
ID: gxs6qjnRecently played far cry 3, probably the worst FOV I’ve seen in a game.
-
So if I wanted to finally get into the metro series, what should I play first? I hear the story of the metro series is great so I don't really want to head into this one without having experienced some of the story.
ID: gxs98jgMetro 2033 redux then last light redux
-
I just beat the enhanced edition of the game this morning on pc, great game.
-
Make sure there's no horrible input lag before you buy this, it was bad on PS4 Pro. Example from random YouTube video
ID: gxsfnp3This. I played on one x (luckily via game pass) and couldn't enjoy the game due to the input lag Don't get me wrong this looks great and will probably be better just due to 60fps, but worth seeing before a buy imo
-
To bad I dont have a PS5 else Id play it!
-
Anyone notice the shadows that were snapping in and out of place? Saw it a few times. I thought the global illumination was governing the shadows, why is it glitching like that?
ID: gxru0wkGot a timestamp?
ID: gxrunnjThe most noticeable one is at 17 seconds during the boat part. But it happens several times.
-
June 18 is the release date
-
Beat this on pc and seriously considering rebuying on ps5...such a good game.
-
So this is a series I've avoided for no real reason. If I haven't played the first two is this one ok to jump in?
ID: gxsdq26Personally I'd play first two, there great games and really cheap usually
-
Well i still won't play it i think, there was no real aim assist and I suck at controller, making this very unnecessarily hard for me. I feel like something like this should be common knowledge, most other shooters i play have good aim assist, Control even has a lock on. Sucks because it's a great game, I've had console forever and I won't magically get better at aiming
-
Played through this on PC and thought the global illumination looked great. It was still using the older version of DLSS though, so it was a bit blurry. Great game and DLC that actually added to the experience.
Will probably play through again on PS5 once it goes on sale or maybe PS+.
-
Bought this bb the other day physical for 15 on Amazon, I am ready!!!
-
Nice! Cant wait
-
i am so fing psyced this game is gonna be insane with the adaptive triggers.
-
Ok ok.. I’ll finally play the series.. these upgrades are amazing
-
I've barely ever even heard of this game. But fuck does that PS5 version look amazing. Is it worth playing? Can anyone tell me about it and do I need to play the others?
-
Native 4k or upscaled/DRS 4k?
ID: gxs9pvzI’d hesitate to make too many assumptions, but if the 2060~ out performs this with RT(it has in every game so far) then its definitely going to be lower than low settings in some cases im guessing RT settings are lower than achievable on PC(like watchdogs where the 2060 outperformed consoles at higher settings and resolution)
The 2060 in DF’s metro EE video was optimized settings, with no reflections(consoles have that off as well) at 1080p to achieve slightly above 60fps. And the 6800XT(the ps5’s muchhhhhh bigger brother) was struggling to get 60 at 1440p.
If the consoles are targeting 4k(DRS is guaranteed) I bet its settings are very nerfed and it still aggressively DRS itself to well below 1440p (with rt at “normal”)

The Dualsense stuff is what's potentially making me get this on PS5 instead of PC- I managed to nab a decent laptop with a RTX3060 in it, but I even with DLSS I doubt it'd hit anywhere near 4k60fps, but I'd still happily go there for KB+M support if not for the DualSense stuff- it really makes playing with a controller feel like an advantage (immersion and enjoyment wise, even if it's technically probably the opposite competitively).
