New to AMD, just finished installing the new setup with a Ryzen 5 5600X yesterday night. So far I tried a bit of tweaking with the stock cooler using Ryzen Master and the BIOS (Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite v2), but I'm buying an AIO cooler next week as well.
Are there any programs outside of Ryzen Master I should be using to improve overall performance, or any tweaks I should do?
I was also recommended to do a fresh re-install of Windows 10, which I did not do yet. I believe unless Windows 10 auto updated chipset drivers, I also did not manually download any chipset drivers.
My current Ryzen Master settings are PPT 89W, TDC 54A and EDC 108A with Boost Override at 125Mhz.
In Cinebench R23 clocks start at 4.55GHz and slowly go down to 4.4GHz due to rising temperatures up to 85C~ with an average score of 11405~
On Single Core I see the CPU constantly keeps switching between the gold star and silver cores, frequencies around 4750-4770Mhz with around 71C ~ degrees and a score of around 1585~
It looked like, to me at least, curve optimizer did not agree at all with the silver and gold cores, proving unstable in single core even at negative 5 offset on these two (program crashing with a bug report), while the other cores are atm somewhere between -10 to -15, in multithread test at first I was going -30 on Core 0, -25 on Core 1 etc, I just dialed all of these back to see why the program was crashing exactly, once I set the best 2 cores at 0 curve optimizer it didn't crash anymore. So far I did not go back to fine-tune the other cores.
Tried boost override to +150, +200 but the clocks seemed to have dialed back instead compared to +125 Mhz.
I also overclocked the Crucial Ballistix memories I have from 3200Mhz to 3600Mhz, it worked seamlessly so far without issues.
I want to try more, 3800Mhz or 4000Mhz if infinity fabric allows it, the current timings are CL 16-18-18-36.
Important question, on this system I noticed that even with a severe system crash the physical system does not shutdown before restarting like it did on my intel system.
Once I will reach a point of severe instability on the RAM, will I be able to go back into BIOS and dial down the settings or will I need to do a hard reset on the motherboard?

honestly 3600 to 3800 ram will yield barely any results and not worth it in my opinion. especially if there might be instability. as far as curve optimizer goes every chip is different. i know some 5600x and 5800x can not go that low.

You should really reconsider that fresh install of Windows. Complete reformat. Salt the earth! I was having a hell of a time getting PBO2 stable until I reformatted, and I upgraded from an older Ryzen. I was even able to get my fclk stable at 1867mhz cl14 (1800 cl14 before).
Just make that backup and give it a shot!

Do not use MSI Afterburner since it can conflict with Radeon adrenaline. Adrenaline should have what you want

the easiest tweak is undervolting your cpu and gpu. little effort with big effect.

IMO you should always do a complete reinstall of Windows when you swap out new hardware.
But other than that, congratz on the build!
ID: gy4m6yhI switched out my motherboard a while back and didn't do a reinstall, instead I used the "Recently changed my hardware" option and it works fine. I'll be swapping my 3700x for a 5800x today too. Should I do a reinstall? Or is this a case of if it works don't fix it?

It's really not advised to change system CPU and chipset without a fresh OS install.

Never use the same windows installation when switching platforms, Intel to Intel, or AMD to AMD is fine.

Afterburner is fine? I have never had issues, any rgb software sometimes conflicts with adrenaline too. Just test to see if it causes any issues bc afterburner is nice not the most accurate but pretty good. Worst case OP has to uninstall drivers and reinstall.
