ID: h0unhu3works well with Dirt Rally for me. The Ultra 1440p 180fps gang don’t want no Mac but casually its plenty fine

I guess nobody remembers Halo CE was originally released for the mac...hell, it was even announced by Steve Jobs himself.
ID: h0uggvlExactly what I came to point out. So instead of making a new comment, I'll post the source on yours.
Bungie had already made games for Mac like Marathon and Myth. Halo was gonna be the next step.
ID: h0ue79wI do. I do.
I will never forgive Bungie for selling out to Micro$oft. I have never touched an XBox and I will never play Halo or Halo: Destiny.
Frog blast the vent core!
ID: h0uh6yaBut they’re no longer apart of Microsoft and Destiny was made under Activison.

I always wondered why Apple didnt dump crayons of their money into claiming the PC gamer market.
A big problem I see is they do not profit from PC sales unless they forced all purchases from the Apple store site.
Not that I am insinuating someone secretly at Apple suggested something like that
ID: h0u9peqSteve Jobs didn’t care about gaming and they make a shit ton in the mobile market. You might see them branch out more with the M1 computers and their virtual reality project.
ID: h0umhhdI still find it amusing when people do not really realize how much mobile revenue is made for pretty much any company
ID: h0u8j6pI’m willing to guess it’s because if the insane markup that Apple does to their products being the biggest issue. The fiancé and I both use iPhones, MacBooks and we have a few iPads but they charge an insane amount for what your actually getting. Could you imagine what the mark up on my $3k gaming oc I built would be if I bought it from them! Lol hard pass!! Another issue being that Apple loves to keep tight controls on all their products. Hell they make their own CPUs now and ditched Intel. My gaming rig would be $10k-$15k easy if Apple had sold it to me.
ID: h0umr8mWhat are good sides of apple products? I never understood why ppl are after their products. (No offense and sorry for english)
ID: h0ujfb3A big problem I see is they do not profit from PC sales unless they forced all purchases from the Apple store site.
They would get profit from hardware sales.
They've been dipping their toes to go more after the console market putting in controller support on the Apple TV and iPads... and pumping up the specs of both systems a bit but by dipping their toes, they only do it half-assed so no one really takes them seriously.

Hey! Boot Camp was a godsend. I played Bioshock Infinite on High on an iMac when it first came out. Didn't have to wait for 2 years for Aspyr to make a port.
But, yeah, by the 2010's Apple started to fall behind on hardware. They're getting ready to go back to integrated graphics and proprietary CPU's soon. Now I've a PC for gaming and a MacBook for work.
ID: h0uig5xI’m genuinely sad that the M1 macs have such touch and go game library, as it is I replaced my desktop hackintosh, with this MBA and it runs damn circles around the hackintosh, even playing wow comfortably at 4K 30 (which is a little less performance wise than my desktop, but the MBA is cheaper, and runs much cooler/ doesn’t heat up the room.
ID: h0uj3x7I also have a hackintosh that the m1 macs can't quite already reach but yeah the room gets hotter.
ID: h0uk8iiI've looked into building a hackintosh, but the complicated software setup puts me off. I'm also worried about an errant update bricking my machine. Looked into running a Mac VM on my PC, but that's even more complicated.

I have a friend who's a hardcore apple fanboy and he games on a Mac...
-
I haven't even looked for a couple of years, but for like a decade the app store's rpg section was Knights of the Old Republic 1, that one indie guy who's been at it since the 90s, and nothing.

There are games for mac?
ID: h0ulrqdOn any Macs with intel processors (anything made before this past year) you can set up BootCamp which will let you restart and boot directly into windows. So you can play any PC game that way.
On Mac OS, unfortunately Steam stopped updating Source (Macs don't support 32bit programs anymore) before that I used to play a lot of Portal 2, TF2, etc on it years ago. Still can play Counter Strike GO. ARK, Rust, Baldur's Gate 3, Dota 2, etc. I think Humankind is coming out for Mac OS later this year.
Thing is I deal a lot with imaging/photography/graphics and window's color management still is less than ideal, there are a few things I need that are UNIX/linux based (which run in Mac's FreeBSD terminal), and Adobe doesn't support Linux, so I need a good Mac for work. So for most games I just play console.
ID: h0u9xwwYea it's called the iPhone.
