- Where Gaming Begins: Ep. 4 | AMD Radeon™ RX 6600 XT
-
I was hoping to upgrade from my 570 this year, but these prices are ridiculous. Might have to buy a mate's old Vega 64 instead.
-
The funniest shit is they are compareing it to a 1060 that you will get like 2.5X preforamance increase but with this MSRP the freaking shelf price is gonna be 2.5X of what the 1060 had in my country. you could buy the 1060s for like 250€ but this will be like 500-600€ so yeahm DOA.

Where gaming goes to die: Ep. 4
-
This video is pretty much one big cringe, they take Steam survey at face value which shits on fanboys here that says its nonsense. They compare their 379 dollar late 2021 card to 2016 nvidia's 250 dollar card while acting like this is some kind of new standard for 1080p gaming. What in the actual fuck.
-
So we're about to see 500+ usd gpus for 1080p for partner models even if they'd be magically close to MSRP. Your GPU may be 2.5 times more powerful than a 5 year old card but it's also 2.5 times more expensive. Trash.
ID: h72311tID: h725gi4Talking MSRP lol, stop being delusional
-
At $379 it begins no where, AMD gpu is dead.
ID: h71iv6jYup, $105 too much. Even $299 would be better, and arguably that's the maximum price one should pay for this tier of card.
Just remember: it takes two to tango. Vote with your wallets accordingly by keeping them shut.
ID: h71jmurYeah no I would love this card for $299…much rather save for my steam deck or 3060 smh
ID: h72ni6gfuuk gamers are narrowminded! there's things causing the price to be higher...
-higher chip cost from TSMC, other companies wanting to buy chips paying more.. GPU's are fighting vs many other markets
-more expensive materials, shipping cost++
-pandemic/workers available
-all the research that went into development
edit: hehe angry gamers downvoting sadge... wake up to reality
ID: h72nwtxthe fact that you attack "gamers" and also the fact you didn't mention scalpers/bots or krypto farmers makes me think you are either one of these
ID: h72onejIs it wrong or too much to ask for a reasonably priced GPU in this day and age?
-
AMD is not our savior. They are a business just like NVIDIA. If it weren't for people paying these insane prices for GPUs we wouldn't be in this situation. Also fanboyism is to blame.
ID: h71zwysPeople pay these insane prices because miners still value it that high
ID: h727julYeah it's not gamers buying these overpriced cards, it's miners
ID: h72dwoaPls Intel save us! could not believe I would say that on day.
ID: h72ghxtIf they're good at mining, miners will buy even Intel GPUs and PC gaming will still be fucked.
ID: h72dhtfI'm holding to my current GPU (RX580) but if it fails be sure I'll be one of those who will pay an inflated price for a GPU because I need one.
I understand your frustration but I don't see how fanboyism is parte of the "situation" we're in nowadays.
It's just supply-demand. I'm amazed AMD and Nvidia are keeping those MSRPs when people is paying a higher price to scalpers. I'd rather this money to end up in AMD-Nvidia pockets instead of some shady scalper, tbh.
ID: h72e77kIf you get the chance, I would actually upgrade now because 580s are selling for ridiculous prices. Even better if you get one from AMD or nvidia directly (which requires a lot of luck). I just sold my 1070 for more than I paid it (but I bought it at a very good price frankly), and it funded half the price I paid for my 6700XT. Better than waiting your GPU to die and actually have to pay full price.
-
You can get an RX 5500 for $500. Does anyone think this is going to be anywhere near $379?
ID: h72dr92I mean no, but what kind of dumbass buys a 5500XT at that price? could get a used 2070S (or if you're patient enough, an actual 3070/6700XT)
ID: h71n3rvYeah. The MSRP right now is literally a number. It has no functional meaning or value. I was skeptical of Linus's take on the 3080Ti pricing, but he was right. you can launch a GPU today for $1, and the few you will have in stock will all be available on ebay in hours for whatever its relative performance is in the product stack. So around 600-800 e.g. for this one. Setting a low MSRP only lowers the AIBs profit margins, and increases those of the scalper.
ID: h729b9aYou can get an RX 5500 for $500.
I've never even seen a 5500 for sale.
-
Way to overpriced to be the second(not sure) lowest of their lineup
-
Pricing is a joke ;p
-
Wow another card you can’t buy at anything remotely near msrp.
And if it’s any good like the stats indicate it will become a unicorn like the 3060 ti
-
F uk PC gaming, just buy a used PS4 pro.
ID: h72gelfTHIS so much, oh my God. With these prices PC gaming has really become accessible only to the elite.
Even a 700€ PS5 bought from a scalper is a better deal than this bullshit.
ID: h72mk88At this point it's fuck gaming in general and get a better hobby!
-
I´d say it´s where gaming ends.
-
More like where it ends.
-
I've been priced out of pc gaming. Making the move back to console after 15 years of pc. Once the mining craze is over and demand falls off a cliff I imagine AMD and NVidia will find that their original market (PC gamers and enthusiasts) has drastically diminished. The money they are making now won't matter when a good chunk of their long term customer base is gone.
This card is DOA. Not that anyone will get their hands on one anyway. 1080p is supposed to be the cheap way to go but I guess that's a thing of the past now.
-
I think they don’t understand why people game in 1080p in year 2021 A.D. the competitive slides are pointless- in cash tournaments they’ll end up on 6900xt. I would like to see official reviewers including Valhalla benchmark and gaming tests. I am aware that this game favor AMD vs Nvidia but I don’t care as well as I don’t care ngreedia superiority in rtx perf in Cp2077. I will wait for crypto crash before buying anything. Regarding system cooling, only 3 models have 3 fans at release date-would be necessary to see more 3-fans models for 1080ti replacement, to combat global heating.
ID: h72od3awish somehow someone could refund me the time I spent reading this
