You see this kind of shit happening normally all the goddamn time in other games with kill cams and you get to see how it's done.
It's not that crazy, the guy just did a flick headshot in <100ms, maybe around 50ms after landing from the hop.
Bit of desync and even 50 ms lag, and it looks like he killed you "instantly" when it could easily just be a practiced motion they started to do halfway through the jump.

No server side checks, no end to end packet encryption on a game that's client authoritative, and last but not least a netcode in dire need to a rework. All of that alone speaks for itself.

If people knew the amount of hacks available for this game, ones that have never been caught/banned and it's users free to use it as much as they'd like with absolutely 0 fear of detection or getting banned, people would realize how much of this stuff is actually hacking.
The thing is, people want to deny hacking unless they're aimbotting through the mall while sliding around at mach 10.
In reality, the most common hack used has a lot of hotkeys available, and individual aspects can be turned on/off.
Most run with an ESP/Wall hack going all the time, but will generally try to fight you.
You'll shoot them til they should have died, however there is several options for that hack for mitigating (or preventing) damage.
So when they realize they can't beat you normally, they'll either turn on the aimbot or hit the "throw an invisible, no sound grenade that appears right at the players feet" button (yes it's real,) and then you wonder why you died.

I really just want to say thank you for showing me that there is another person playing this game with perception to see what is real. So many people that can't even analyze a situation anymore. As someone playing since 2018 it's so easy so see how many cheaters play this game. It's easy to see what I know tarkov should feel like and when my opponent has magical knowledge and powers. I just genuinely don't understand the nay sayers, literally a 30 second google search shows just how many options there are out there for people to cheat
ID: gxw7zznYeah after 400-500 normal firefights, you start to easily pick out the sketchy ones. After a few hundred sketchy ones over 3-4 years, you start to pick out which ones are Tarkov being Tarkov, and how many (which is a hell of a lot sadly) are cheats.

EFT is actually a pretty pain in the ass game to make hacks for, if you don't want to get caught.
Now unfortunately the reality is there is pretty easy access to "who cares if I get the ban hammer" type hacking, you can find that quite easily.
However EFT makes it a royale pain in the ass to spoof HWID, battleye has actually become quite decent at combating hacks and takes a lot of work to get past, and same goes for running in a VM.
Generally if you do see people hacking, they're either going to be auto-banned within hours, or they're spending at least 120$/month for the privilege, still with a high risk of being banned and possibly getting their base HWID burned.
There are also frequent periods of time where no hacks function or any hacks will get you caught, as the hacking community for EFT is pretty lackluster (it's a niche game after all), so updates are slow and people with really top tier skills spend their time on other games.

Vmware and screamer hacks are banned. However the big ones aren't banned, and are available on google.
If it wouldn't be morally dubious and definitely against sub policy, I could link 3 right now, 1 free. Not even really that hard to find them though, it's literally on google. Albeit the free one does have a premium service with more features, your basic ESP/aimbot works.
All three of these hacks work, continue to work, and they go so far as to advertise them with level 50+ EOD accounts to show you won't get banned.
Yeah if you turn on everything and go flying through the mall with a speed hack and aimbot turned on every game, you're going to get manually banned pretty quick.
But either they can't or won't detect any of those hacks.
Also the most expensive one, "best package" is $60/week IIRC.

We'll never know, but peekers advantage is real in this game. The real question is if your buddy also died because HE should have been at a shallower angle than you and targeted first.
