In 8 once you've junctioned a guardian do they have any starter spells to equip or will I just have to find them as I play

They have starter abilities. Spells are drawn from enemies or draw points.

Greetings! Massive 7 fan, played the Remake on launch, however I have not been able to obtain a PS5 to play Intergrade (much to my annoyance.) Should I just bite the bullet and get the PC version? Is it still running not-so-great?

Should I play FFXIV? I've never played an MMORPG before and have only watched my dad play WoW. I have every mainline game with the exception of Lightning Returns, 11, and 14, both of which MMORPG. Also, while I'm at it, what expansions should I get and how much is the subscription?

Don't bother with expansion until you finish Heavensward, you get the base game and the 1st expansion for free with unlimited time as long as you don't suscribe to the game.

The first half of the main story of ARR is slow and not that interesting (for most people), but after that it gets good and even amazing with heavensward.

So take your time and see if you like the game, there is plenty to do in game, and the community is very nice and supportive, so don't hesitate to ask questions and join the new player channel (don't remember the name).

Join the FFXIV discord to get more infos 🙂

I've been playing FFXIV since 2.0 and I'm also a longtime fan of the franchise. By all accounts I would say FFXIV has by far the best story of all Final Fantasy games. It'll be a bit slow and the voice acting doesn't really pick up in English until you hit Heavensward, but it's worth the wait. If you like story heavy games, like me, you'll love FFXIV. If you aren't hooked by the end of Heavensward, I'd be very surprised.

The advantage to FFXIV above other MMO's is that you can mostly play it as a single-player experience if you want to. Everything beyond the main story quest is entirely optional. There's a slew of content to go through, and some people spend thousands of hours on optional content before even finishing the story.

I would start off with the free trial when it becomes available again (which should be shortly), as that lasts you all the way through the first expansion (the aforementioned Heavensward), or, if you can't wait, just buy a starter edition and then upgrade it with the most recent expansion, Endwalker, as that'll include every previous expansion as well.

The game starts off slow and will take its time to explain things like you've never set foot in an MMO game before, so don't even worry about that aspect. The community is also overall nice and helpful, especially while you're a "sprout" (the term used for new players). Look for an invite to your local novice network if you want to ask some questions - most of them aren't bad and can ease the overwhelming aspects a bit if you can interact with other players that can give a quick answer to simple questions.

Just finished up XIII & X, loved them both for different reasons. I’ve also finished I, II, IV and VII, and have enjoyed them all.

Listed below are the games I’m wanting to play soon, any suggestions for which one I should play next?

FF XIII-2, FF VIII, FF IX, FF XII, FF XV

If you enjoyed XIII, I'd definitely play XIII-2 next. On the other hand you've finished all the games before FFIX, so that's a really solid game to do now that you have experienced the previous generations fully. Little slow, but amazing.

I have a pixel remaster question: is there a resource that I can find that summarizes all the recent patches and bug fixes / known bugs?

I'm looking to finally dive in and want to know what to expect. (For example, is the FF2 bug where enemies with status effects have 100% on hit to inflict them still present?)

Is there any comprehensive list of all or almost all of the official merchandise for Final Fantasy(preferably with pictures)?

The section in the wiki is quite comprehensive for VIII and partly VII, but falls flat for many other titles. I just find it kind of strange, that a search on ebay or amazon wields better results than anything I found on the internet so far. Especially if I go beyond soundtracks, art books, guides or sheet music.

Is the Final Fantasy Union the founders of the Final Fantasy Wiki?
