- Walmart holding out?
-
Interesting but we don't have context for this. How long have they been sitting there? Where are they going?
I can't imagine there's really any benefit to holding on to them until say Blackfriday. They'll fly off the shelf regardless.
ID: hha0zg0ID: hha8qi3I’ve been waiting almost a month for them to ship mine lol.

If they were to advertise they'd have PS5s in-store for black friday, that could be a huge amount of people going to their stores. Once people are in the stores, add-on sales have a higher chance of occurring. It's essentially like Gamestop's bundle method. People are so desperate for them, they're willing to pay for extras.
ID: hha4ff0After all the trampled people and fistfights breaking out they better be really careful how they handle this. A lot of retailers moved this stuff online because they don’t like the optics of people murdering each other in their stores.

I don't think they're hurting for customers around black Friday. We've all seen the videos.

"All of them" lmao
-
Black Friday bundle will have to buy a tv to get one lol
-
I'm sure retailers are holding next gen consoles to sell at retail price only to get you into the store on Black Friday.
-
They’re not the only ones. Target is also holding them hostage. Coworker asked an employee at a Target near my work and his words were “Not gonna lie to you, we have them in the back but aren’t allowed to sell them.” Didn’t give a reason why but I assume they’re stockpiling for Black Friday/Holiday shopping. It’s gonna be madness.
ID: hhad00uStocked in back for online purchase and in store pickup. Trying to avoid fights in store from having them on the shelf.
ID: hha1xzpThat just doesn't make sense from a logistical standpoint. They're going to pay for the overhead of the consoles sitting in a warehouse when they could easily sell them now? No company is going to sabotage their own bottom line like that.
ID: hha2tmnLike someone else mentioned, the only thing that would make sense is to keep the stock just so they can advertise they have them for sale on Black Friday to drive higher traffic and hope you buy other things while there.
ID: hhaazdeTrue, but maybe they plan on trying to bundle them with a TV or something to move other products.
ID: hha62bhScary part is, what if they’re expecting low supply for the year so they want to make sure they have more than 5 units per store available for BF.
ID: hha2ywqThey don't want to sell them in store and so they have to wait for enough to pile up for an online drop. If they released them online as soon as they got them only bots would get the consoles as there would be so few released no regular user could even get one. At least that's my assumption.
-
Probably waiting to make sure other items are stocked since I almost exclusively see bundles with their console restocks at Walmart now. Bundled with either TVs, games, controllers, etc.
ID: hha44of100% this.
Every retailer is forcing bundles.
ID: hhabpnzIt's like the retailer version of scalping. Sony should just sell all of their consoles online themselves next gen, fuck the retailers.
-
Or there holding out till closer to Christmas now
-
Aren’t they selling them at retail price? What is the point then lol.
-
Maybe people just aren’t buying them
ID: hha5d78Lol
ID: hha331pThey are being scalped on ebay for more than MSRP, so people are definitely buying them.
ID: hhah2hqThank God I'm not dumb enough to buy something at a scalped price
ID: hhagqa3Are you sure about that? I’ve seen them on sale in many stores
-
When they first came out he was selling them same day he put them up for sale like 250 profit each
-
He had one listed on ebay for the heck of it no bids the others he sold where off Facebook meet at local police station
-
What the
-
Not anymore
ID: hha3l76Friend has 6 to sell no one is buying anymore
ID: hha9q5lNot for inflated prices with black Friday around the corner. Better to try the rat race first then buy from scalpers
ID: hha3t1qI mean, currently on eBay there are a lot with bids between 600-800.
-
Walmart makes more money from their cut of scalpers selling them on their website.
-or-
maybe you have to join an overpriced club like Best Buy
retailers are completely out of control
ID: hhaorwsYup walmart has some shady business behind the scenes. I remember opening COD ghosts and there was a cdr disc in there lol

Yeah, this could be Walmart’s entire allocation for the month and it’s awaiting shipment.
