I was genuinely shocked by how poor the graphics were in their reveal. I initially thought they were showing the 'before' graphics and were then going to cut to their remaster, but nope, the 'before' was their remaster.
ID: hiew34jYou probably forget how bad the original looked, that happens over time. That said, everyone is right, it could have looked WAY better. Hopefully they’re completely redoing it.
ID: hifsat2Ehh, the original looked more or less like your average GameCube game regardless of what platform you played it on. The remake looked like something off of early PS3, which for something being toted as a 'Remake' is completely unacceptable in 2021.

I didn't realize how bad my nostalgia glasses were in this game.
Game play holds up, graphics do not.

ID: hiejvggIt's not always a death sign at least. Tsukihime Remake took 13 years from announcement to release and turned out great. Metroid Dread was cancelled and restarted a few times since the 2000s and got reborn with critical acclaim. Dreams took 7 years to come out to largely positive reception.
Granted, I don't have much hope here given how lifeless the first showing was.

I don't want to tag on these devs because ya never know the full story... But the demo they showed looked HORRIBLE. Like PS2 levels of fidelity.. This news is not surprising at all

To be fair people were wondering what happened, so an update saying the game is still alive is nice.
Plus I think its clear with this huge delay that they heard the backlash and are hopefully redoing things to make the game look better and like an actual remake.
