My PS5 has basically been an FFXIV machine since the launch day of Endwalker and as someone who's played since damn near day one (of A Realm Reborn, not the original release), and every mainline final fantasy game, it really might be my best final fantasy experience to date.

ID: ht5q2hiMy one biggest negative towards the game (I'm not at Endwalker yet, just finished Shadowbringer main quests) is that our character doesn't speak, has literally no sound so screams are muted and it actually makes me not give a shit about my own character.
It baffles me that the devs didn't get any voice actors or even add text so that it feels like they're talking instead of reusing the same gestures whenever we're shocked or confused. Honestly the silent protagonists trope is something I have come to truly hate in games since it also makes zero sense in most case but here in FF14 it's more frustrating because it's like everyone can hear our character speak except for us.

ID: ht6d2h1Adding voice takes away from it being "your" character. The game does start to give you more options when answering questions but that's about as far as it goes.
I get the distaste for the system and I'm fine with or without voice.
ID: ht664jfIt does make sense tho, they would have to use like 20 different voice actors (they could use one male and one female but they probably wouldn’t go for that option)

A game whose population is booming so much, it has to turn away new players. Kudos to this team who made the game as the MMO market needed a competitor for quite some time.

I've been playing the game for over a year now, and I was actually crying while fighting the final boss of Endwalker. I've teared up a few times along the journey, but never have I full on cried while fighting a boss. Powerful stuff.

As a long time wow player, I had been longing for something new and have ignored this game for 10 years. Just got it a few days ago for PS5 and it is amazing. I highly recommend everyone looking for a solid MMO on the PS5 give it a try. The free version provides many many hours of content so there is no reason not to try it.

EW could be the love letter, but ShB was the lustfilled handjob. That expac was gold from start to finish. Hopefully EW gets a little kinky, because it’s feeling pretty missionary atm.

I just wish they would add support for using the adaptive triggers to access your additional cross hot bars instead of double pressing.
ID: ht8i4cwDo you use cross hotbars? Way better than double pressing, and that gets you enough buttons for all classes (at least up to level 80, I don't have them all to 90 yet).

I just got into FFXIV about a month ago. Been playing on my PS5 almost everyday. Could be slightly more optimized
