Are there any games out there that aren’t open world that don’t take 40 hours to complete. I really liked the Uncharted franchise and is looking for something I can play 20/30 minutes each day.
-
It's a FPS but Titan Fall 2 single player campaign is around 6-8 hours or so. Multiple check points per level. Stop almost when you want.
-
Ratchet and Clank is short and sweet. Free until April if you haven't already claimed it.
-
www.howlongtobeat.com should be your bible
-
Senua's sacrifice

-
Erica, Until Dawn, What Remains of Edith Finch.
ID: gqm6j23I see Edith Finch. I upvote.
-
Hellblade
-
Detroit: Become Human and Infamous: Second Son
ID: gql8q3mYeah but infamous is open world
ID: gqnok7lInfamous First Light might fit the brief a bit better. Story-wise it couldn't be more than 5 hours.
-
I was feeling the same and knocked out Jedi Fallen Order. And now running through the Batman Arkham remasters.
-
The Order 1886
-
Check out The Last Guardian and Shadow of colossus.
The closest I can think of to the Uncharted series is Tomb Raider -but it's open world.
ID: gqmgsvfShadow of the Colossus is a straight masterpiece.
-
OxenFree, Children of Morta, Chasm, TimeSpinners, RiskofRain 1 and 2.
ID: gqlzsxhHow is TimeSpinners?
ID: gqlzxz0I absolutely loved it I had a fantastic time with the game. All of those games I’ve lived listed were a great time.
-
Brothers Tale of Two Sons is short. Metal Gear Ground Zeroes. Journey of course. I liked A Plague Tale.
All of these are fairly cheap at this point.
-
Catherine Full Body - 10 hours
-
Resident evil 2 remake (and 3) . Took me less than 6 hours to complete
-
The Last Guardian, Journey, The Last of us, Resident Evil 2/3/7, The order 1886, Tomb raider, Detroit become human
-
Journey.
-
Sea of Solace
-
RE 2 is fairly short, and definitely entertaining. RE 3 is more of RE 2, but a lot shorter.
-
The Last of Us part 2 would be on the top of my list. Probably 30 to 35 hours
-
Any good survival or sandbox games to play with a few friends?
-
Try roguelites? Slay The Spire, Dead Cells, Hades, and so on and on. All great games and you can play them for basically any amount of time before closing them.
-
Oxenfree. It's got a pretty awesome story and setting.
ID: gqjxjn3And there was a sale - ending yesterday ...
I bought it for 0.99€.
-
Outer worlds.
ID: gqklh01Not open world and less than 30 h?
ID: gqklnw3It’s 25-30 hours. Can be less if you skip side stuff. It’s not open world. It has different sections but there’s loading etc. not like AC. More like borderlands
-
SW Jedi fallen order, doom, ratchet and clank (free for everyone),
-
Not sure if you will like the idea, but games like N++ are great for short sessions
The Last of Us is far better than Uncharted (same studio so similar storytelling and comp time)
For me Hollow Knight was a great game, first time I was dissapointed that I have reached the end so soon
Borderlands 3 story is quite short and fun, you can ignore most sidequests, checkpoints are everywhere
Tomb Raider is like Uncharted, and is underrated
-
Resident evil 2/3 remakes
-
Journey to the Savage Planet
Fun as hell, colorful, unique, goofy. Budget price with budget length without the budget gameplay. I wish I could find more games like it.
I'm thinking $30-$40 MSRP games are better suited for my new "fuck I suddenly have 2 kids and 2 jobs and struggle to find the time to play even an hour a day but I'm still obsessed with videogames and I'm almost 40 years old....wtf" way of life, lol.
Long gone are the days where I can actually dedicate time to a single campaign and have it hold my attention. I was able to do it with Tsushima and God of War and Sekiro but that's about it for this entire generation, lol.

The Order 1886 Ratchet & Clank Observation Blackwood Crossing Punch LineGood
Inside Jettomero Pyre The Wolf Among Us Tales from the Borderlands Until DawnGreat

Final fantasy 7 Remake only takes 30 hours to complete and it’s a fantastic story-driven action game!
ID: gqigotnYeah I just claimed it off psplus, but I’ve never played a final fantasy game before. Should I play the other ones first or is it fine to just dive in FF7?
ID: gqiig1pYou'll miss some small in-jokes to the series as a whole but in general, each numbered FF is a completely separate entity. You'll be able to follow along fine.
ID: gqii28aJust dive in. Each one is its own story, characters and world and FFVII is famously the best
-
Deadpool also the South Park games
-
senua, last guardian, plague tale.
-
How about one that is Open World but DOESNT take 40 hours to complete? Spider-man is open world but should take closer to 20 to complete. I platinumed the whole thing in about 30 myself.
Darksiders 1 is one of my all-time favorite games and is a more linear experience.
Infamous First Light is also open world but should take less than 10 hours to complete and can be similar to Uncharted. Also, Control is worth checking out. It's not open world but it is Metroidvania style where you come back to certain places but it's still a more linear experience than an open world game. Also worth keeping an eye on Mass Effect Collection that will release in May.
And finally, if you're a Terminator fan, Resistance is a fun little linear experience. It's nothing special as a FPS but if you're a fan you'll love the callbacks and the atmosphere.

Tons of indie games are on the shorter side. Braid is getting a remaster sometime this year. Its really short and really good.
-
Rime
Sea of Solitude
Firewatch
Fe
Machinarium
Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition
Nearly all Battlefield campaigns can be beaten rather quickly, with the multiplayer portion offering a lot of staying power. Battlefield 4 has a ton of players daily for a launch game, and the Premium edition is on sale (game + DLC).
