This update completely fixed all USB issues I had with my Meg Ace.

I was able to stream with multiple cameras connected and none froze. It's like a gift from God.

Yeah, my external DAC doesn't stop working on boot anymore and I don't hear random USB disconnect sounds every second. I never knew what was disconnecting, I just never bothered since I have so many devices and hubs connected to my system.

ID: gudzg60

Same here, running 1E3 version for 3 days now without issues. USB disconnect issues seem to have stopped as well.

ID: gue8231

I have a meg ace and updated using meg ace x570 bios update but I sm still getting usb related restart errors.

Which name and version of the bios did you update? Was it the tomahawk bios version?

ID: guezxtm

I got it from the MSI website. This beta was not updated on the forums thread (sometimes that thread is more up to date tho), I got it directly from the support page on their site. 1E3 I think it was?

ID: guf0i8r

im using the default bios that came with the meg ace cd-rom on release and have had 0 issues, but I'm not using a 5000 series cpu, using a 3900x

I just flashed to this bios (x570 tomahawk). Really hope the usb issues are gone.

4 : Anonymous2021/04/13 14:14 ID: gudffbl

Please update the BIOS for B450 boards too

Thank you.

u.

yeah i feel like after 1.2.0.0 they stopped putting effort in the b450 max boards overall.

ID: gufdr4q

I just wanna know why the 1.2.0.0 bios on b450 seemed to have made the fclk all wonky. Wonky I say!

Please push B450 boards faster MSI! Waiting on B450 Tomahawk.

Anyone got details on the new features?

7 : Anonymous2021/04/13 09:28 ID: gucq0m0

Stable for 10 hrs now with my X570 Tomahawk.

8 : Anonymous2021/04/13 11:02 ID: gucw01t

updated to the new bios for the msi x570 tomahawk wifi with ryzen 5800x and it seems to be limiting how much power it takes, i've set everything the same. During testing it draws 120w when it should be 140w, flashed back to the previous bios and everything was fine. Anyone esle experiencing this problem?

ID: gucxoq3

I have your same config (X570 tomahawk + ryzen 7 5800x), I am kinda worried about the BETA label

In my case the USB bug only affects the wireless headphones, which randomly disconnect...

I will wait for the stable version, even if it's taking incredibly long to fix.

I see every board has a beta bios available except for the regular B550 Gaming Edge WiFi 🙁

ID: gud3cpy

I have that board... waiting for this update 😐

ID: guct0di

Yeah I also haven’t seen a bios for that board yet

ID: gucum0z

Worth to update? I’m afraid of the status “beta”

B550 gaming plus here and no problems so far.

Updated BIOS and USB issues went away (X570 Tomahawk / Ryzen 9 3900 XT), everything was going great for a few hours while gaming and then entire computer crashed to black screen with GPU fans running at highest speed and the VGA debug light on MOBO became active. Had to Flash BIOS back to former version and at least I have my computer back but with slightly annoying USB issues again. Using XFX Radeon X580 GPU because I still can't find a 30 series.

You may have an overheating issue. Also, your PSU may be the issue with providing energy to the GPU while warmer...

Investigating, seems likely. I have a few year old Corsair RM850 Watt but maybe it's finally getting too old. Thanks.

What about B450/X470 boards, they are still on 1.2.0.0 AGESA?

13 : Anonymous2021/04/13 06:04 ID: gucdaph

I'm fortunate I have not experienced the USB issues since my board (X570-A Pro) is still on a beta bios for 1.2.0.1 lol.

ID: guce2hs

I also jave the x570 a pro (latest beta bios), no usb issues.

Obligatory comment bitching about spotty X570 Gaming Edge WiFi support

15 : Anonymous2021/04/13 18:15 ID: guebwoe

While I understand it's currently available for download, how long do bios updates take before they leave beta?

16 : Anonymous2021/04/13 18:50 ID: guegm3t

I wish MSI bios allowed profile transfer between the bios versions. Setting up everything (especially memory timings and fan profiles) gets tedious and boring. I think I'll just wait for more substantial AGESA update before I update my bios again.

ID: gueu2su

Worst part was the first time I ever did a bios update, I didn't realize the settings/profile doesn't carry over. I never took note of my final fan curves for intakes/cp

after weeks of tinkering, then lost it with the update. I was so pissed.

ID: guevgev

I just did a Bios rollback and took pictures with my phone. Bios change always feels scary it's imo pretty safe unless something crazy happens (power outage etc).

17 : Anonymous2021/04/13 15:18 ID: gudntd5

will they update the msi b450 tomahawk max? it's still on 1.2.0.0?

18 : Anonymous2021/04/13 05:38 ID: gucbe31

I wonder when they'll release the normal version of the BIOSes, not just the beta version.

19 : Anonymous2021/04/13 09:35 ID: gucqdgg

I have MSI B550 Gaming Plus. Before patch when I was connecting my Reverb G2 to Rear USB-C, headset wasn't found. When I was connecting it to USB 3.2 gen 2 (red 10 Gbps) vr was working but audio was changing from speakers to headset speakers. Changing USB to 3.2 Gen 1 (blue 5Gbps) fixed issue, VR works as it should. Today I've updated bios to 7C56v162(Beta version) which includes AGESA 1.2.0.2 and unfortunately still the same issues. VR only works on USB 3.2 Gen 1

ID: gufnpme

Quest 2? I think at least for that one, and probably most Oculus headsets, they recommend plugging into a 3.2 G1 port, rather than G2 or G2x2. That could be why, and it's not a bug per se.

X570 ACE has the v1E3 (beta) version -

What does everybody think about these beta BIOSes, MSI tends to release a lot of them, vs regular releases.

I ran a few of them without any issues, FWIW

21 : Anonymous2021/04/13 21:14 ID: guezi4p

Anyone with a Sound Blaster sound card + channel swap issue who can confirm the issue was fixed with these beta BIOSes?
