While it may be a minor issue to some, I am SO excited that they fixed the Japanese lip sync with this update!

I played the game in Japanese and decided to just look directly at the subtitles instead of the character faces because the lip sync was really noticeable. It was more of a minor annoyance than anything, but I’m so happy to see it fixed here
ID: h3q32vsI started in Japanese voices but the lack of lip syncing and the fact that the Japanese voice emoting didn't match up to the facial expressions put me off and I had to change to English voices half way through.

I wish they would have done what FF7 remake did. Make the upgrade free and then have to pay for the expansion. $30 seems a steep depending on how much content the expansion has

Mmmh. 30 bucks for a DLC on PS5... Im excited but i‘ll wait for more news like the length of the story and size of map.
ID: h3q7x0dYeah, I only bought the game a month or so ago for ~$40 new and beat it on PS5.
$20 isn't too bad for a new island/ storyline but I want to see the howlongtobeat and other stats first.
I'll probably entirely pass on the $10 PS5 upgrade. That really should have been a freebie but whatever .

I was gonna wait to play this game again once I get a PS5 but now that Sucker Punch have announced a next gen version of it with dynamic 4K and 60fps as well as a single player expansion AND Japanese lip sync, it's making me want to play it again when it comes out in August. But as tempting as it is, I'm gonna wait until I finally get a PS5 to play this.
ID: h3p9r4vAs others have pointed out, the Japanese lip sync will only be a feature in the ps5 edition. The wait is worth it regardless, you can only experience the game once 🙂

Iki Island is much closer to the main island than Tsushima is. If Jin is there... then maybe the possible sequel will be having him supporting the defense of Hakata Bay from the second invasion and perhaps play a role in the death of the regent Hojo Tokimune.

People saying they dont have an event planned. Maybe they have bigger things to show than a ps5 version +dlc of a ps4 game. Maybe they truly have some big guns,and they are showing this to let more bigge

Also they said death stranding director's cut would get a full reveal "in the coming weeks", and the horizon release date would be revealed "very soon". It all points towards an event in a week or so. Not even considering the leaks that also say this.

ID: h3pvll5My guess is they put this one out on its own so they could (to the best of their ability) clearly lay out the pricing for upgrades, and deal with the negativity today without having people use that news to walk away from a showcase with a negative attitude.
Personally, I'll pay the $30 no problem. Ghost was enough of a high-quality experience, and they offered enough free expansions post-launch (Legends, 60fps patch) that as long as the story expansion is more than four hours of content, I'm sure it'll be worth the price tag.
ID: h3pbgbrI feel like this announcement is definitely big enough for an event like the rumoured one. It's quite of a big expansion for a 1st party game from Sony, which, in theses type of events, will be an announcement bigger than like 75% of the other games that are shown.
That's still doesn't mean that there won't be an event. Anyways, If the July 8th rumours are true, we should be hearing about the event in like the next two days.

I have gone through the comments, and here is what I understand: $30 covers the ps4 --> ps5 upgrade as well as the new dlc. There is no way for me to just get the ps5 upgrade. Correct?

I don't mind paying for the dlc, but charging another 10 bucks for the PS5 upgrade is fucking laaaame.
Not what I would have expected from Sony, a true bummer. Even Square gave us the PS5 upgrade of FF7 for free and only asked for money for the (very good) Yuffie dlc.

That's how Sony thanks their customers who bought the PS5 and their exclusives. Meanwhile Bethesda released a PS5 upgrade for DOOM Eternal completely free.
