- New Mass Effect and Dragon Age 4 won’t be shown at EA Play Live in July
-
Mass Effect I can understand but still no Dragon Age?
They've been teasing it for years now, would be great to finally see it.
ID: h3pzg9fID: h3qdasdConsidering all we've got are CGI trailers, that all amount to the cliche open-world advertisement shtick of, "This is your story, forge your own path!", I would assume so.
Plus, perhaps EA and Bioware have been dealing with some behind the scenes issues, given Bioware's last full fledged project was Anthem, and EA was outwardly displeased with the release.
ID: h3qdou8Which one?
ID: h3pzbj1They're probably trying to turn it back into a live service game again.
ID: h3q3saoI hope not. Jason Schreier reported that EA was allowing them to just make a regular single-player game for once after the success of Jedi Fallen Order, which I would love to believe is true.
ID: h3ql3y4I fully assumed ME4 would be out before DA4. They internally rebooted DA4 again not that long ago, dropping the GaaS and moving back to a regular single-player system, I figured that would have put it behind ME4.
ID: h3qparmI would be shocked if ME5 released before DA4. I'm sure Bioware has most of their resources aimed at getting DA4 finished right now.

So Bioware’s last game release was 2019.
I suppose 2022 is next at the earliest, 3 years development.
But with a pandemic in there and probably some time spent trying to rescue that last game (Anthem), 2023 seems pretty reasonable too. Dragon Age or Mass Effect seem like they would need more than 3 years of CoD-speed development time.

No Dragon Age is disappointing
-
No dragon age is really disapointed... please bioware, its has been a very long time
-
Ugh this sucks it's been so long. I know some people hate them now but I still adore bioware RPG's, even the more recent ones, nothing else scratches that itch
At least the legendary edition felt great and new, since I had forgotten everything but the main bullet points of the original trilogy by then

So EA pretty much just has Battlefield, some sports games, Apex, probably a racing game, and a Dead Space remake to show? Maybe The Last Jedi 2 if we’re lucky? That’s disappointing.
ID: h3pxlbwThe Last Jedi 2 if we’re lucky? That’s disappointing.
Would be pretty interesting at least.
ID: h3pxz39Skate
ID: h3q9j0oGod I hope
ID: h3qdtgsBattlefield 2042, Dead Space Remake, and Fallen Order 2 would be a great show imo. It's confusing as to why people expect Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo levels of conferences from other publishers.
ID: h3qlucmEA has more studios than Sony (not even counting secondary/"B-team" studios which EA also has more of) and EA's main studios tend to have multiple franchises in the works at the same time, so people just expect EA to have more to show.
-
They should be able to show something about dragon age. At this point I'm starting to wonder if they're just gonna trash what they have and start over from scratch. I know games are hard to make but it's been a while since the last game and feels like they're getting no where
-
So no reason to bother watch EA live unless your a Battlefield fan.
ID: h3qm3wnI love Battlefield, but I'd much rather see something from the new Mass Effect. BF2042 is going to be a rollercoaster for the first year, it will launch to a mess, get patched up, only to have a "2.0" patch fuck everything up. As is tradition.
-
I'm not expecting much lol -- if they show anything about the Jedi: Fallen Order sequel or the new Skate game I'll consider myself satisfied.
-
No Elder Scrolls or Avowed announcement on E3, now nothing on DA... for fans of deeper RPGs out there this year is kinda poor. We got news on a second Outer Worlds being in the works so that's something.
-
With the state of their a last two games, regardless of what “team” worked on them (they’re all BioWare), anyone excited for this game is a clown
ID: h3qe78hWhat was wrong with Legendary Edition? That was a great game
ID: h3qgnh3I actually liked Andromeda... After they fixed all the animations game was pretty good in my opinion.
ID: h3qqdxnI didn't play through all of it because it crashes constantly on my PC but I was having fun with what I played. Looking forward to buying it on PS5 if it ever goes on sale...

those games are trash tho so who cares

Dragon Age is quite easily one of my favourite series of all time. The rollout of DA4 has left me very little doubt that the game will be anything other than a steaming pile... The way they announced it when everyone stopped giving a shit about Bioware, the fact that the first announcement trailer (with the dev interviews and all those shots of Edmonton) said nothing interesting, or relevant to the actual game... And then that joke of a CGI trailer that looked worse than any of the announced next-gen games based solely on graphical fidelity and art direction alone.
I really, really, really hope I'm wrong (coming from someone that actually loved DA2 and Inquisition) but I've seen nothing to give me even the slightest bit of faith that this won't suck.

We are getting a mass effect 4?

Dragon Age 4 could still be in the design phase just like another certain game out there lol
