Release date is August 31. I played the base game a few months ago and was surprisingly fun. Hope they make the boss more managable though as I found that rather annoying to fight.

Think I'm more casual than most of this sub, and hugely enjoyed Maneater! Played in ~1hr "chunks", searching out all collectibles; really enjoyable plat (I don't have many though). Even chuckled at a few of the Landmark gags.
Taking it slow meant I had most mutations/sets in good time, and used them on specific targets - Poison on Apex predators, Bone against Hunters' boats, then Electric when the Hunters started electrifying their defences. I found the Orca trickier than the end boss, and both felt satisfying.ID: h51inlhthen Electric when the Hunters started electrifying their defences.
Does that give you any defence against the electricity?
ID: h51v0liI didn’t notice if it did, when I switched to all bone except for the teeth I noticed a huge damage reduction. The boosted damage your tail whip and boats just walked over the hunter boats and the electric generator things
ID: h524o83Yup, one of the Electric set (body?) gives significant damage reduction from electricity.
ID: h5399fnI totally wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did either. Ended up getting the platinum as well. So I’m down to flop around on a golf course and get my snack on for some DLC. Also, having it be a parody that lets me eat a bunch of P-Anon supporters as a giant shark will be extremely therapeutic.

Chris Parnell really carried this game. The visuals are pretty nice too generally, but man this thing gets repetitive so fast. I made it to maybe the 4th zone, the one with the rich people (don't know how else to describe it), and there's practically no change between areas. It's like an Assassin's Creed gameplay loop but only fetch quests.

Can't fucking wait for this. Platinumed the main game and it was one of the most fun I've head in a long time.
-
I had a lot of fun playing the base game. It was one of the best PS5 games given away on PS+. Chris Parnell did an amazing job as the narrator and greatly enhanced the whole experience. The delivery on this DLC's theme has me curious, if it's fairly priced I will definitely check it out!
-
Actually one of my favourite platinum trophies I've gotten so far, REALLY good "braindead entertainment" with a few good laughs on top
Glad to see this wasn't just an april fools gag from the developers, super stoked to play this!
-
If anyone wanted to know what a shark game would be like if made by the tony hawk devs would be like, here's maneater
-
Platinumed this game on PS4 and 5 and had so much fun with it. I am really looking forward to this.
-
The base game was a fun snack between games, I will definitely play this!
-
Super fun game to zone out to while chomping around, but the absolutely broken and frustrating final boss ruined it a little for me.
-
Hope they fix the performance on PS5. It was near dogshit towards the final act of the game when the world opened up even more. Otherwise a fun game I plat'd in 16hrs.
ID: h52y5xfI actually had brief loading screens pop up when switching zones some times. I even got stuck on the loading screen a few times when fast travelling - The PS5's SSD should easily be able to handle this game without the need for any load screens really. As much as I enjoyed this game some of these bugs and the lack of PS5 features really made me glad I got it on PS+...Nonetheless I'll probably buy the DLC because it was good fun for the short time I played it.

The narrator sounds like Jerry from Rick & Morty
ID: h51s0t8That is exactly who it is
ID: h51uy0kThe narrator sounds like the narrator
-
The base game was quite fun and I love how much they're leaning into the absurd with this DLC. Will likely pick this up.
-
I didn’t like this game but it’s cool that are continually putting out content

$14.99 according to GameRant.

I finished it a bit over a week ago, didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Some of the fights were pretty tough until I used all the bone stuff max upgraded. So much damage reduction. It really adds up. Combine that with the shadow teeth that give you health per bite and all fights after actually a walk over. Couldn’t believe I was making my life harder with the other upgrades.
