- Which one do you think would win in a fair fight, and why ?
-
Leon and Chris are on even grounds according to RE6, we see Chris is always one step ahead ethan in re8. Leon definitely takes the fight. Even with ethans semi-invulnerability, Leon would take the initial fight regardless and then realise its a BOW he is dealing with. Then the 20 years of BOW fighting experience kicks in.
Edit: Leon: "Your right hand comes off?"
ID: hezwrm4ID: hf02l1gThis is a super solid point, the only thing Ethan really has is being resilient to damage and that only goes so far.
ID: hf03ct4"Yours doesn't?"
ID: hezu343I guess due Leon agility making up for his lack of strength compared to Chris.
But being realistic neither can do damage beyond what Ethan tanked bud. Like at the end of the day both human.
With weapons things change obviously.
ID: hf06c98Nothing is stopping Chris or anyone else from just cutting Ethan into little pieces and keeping the parts separate so he can’t heal himself.
He isn’t deadpool lmao
ID: hezw0g5Just dont see it. Ethan's ability just delays the inevitable, he cant touch Leon. Human yes, but look what Leon can do even with a knife compared to Ethan lmao, he threw it with pin point accuracy at Salazars hand, impaling it haha
ID: hf03ei8Having his heart ripped out and the following fight with Miranda put Ethan at death's door. Even without the bomb, he was about to flake away like the Bakers did when they died. It really didn't take much to put Ethan in that state and it wouldn't be hard for Leon to match it.
ID: hf06gkbI know agility is Leon's thing, but I think that Leon is still pretty stout though. He might be smaller but that doesn't necessarily mean he's that much weaker than Chris. He held his own against him in 6 although that was a short fight. Just sharing my thoughts lol.
-
Depends on who's the player character.
ID: hf2r3rqThe correct answer!
-
Depends if Leon kidnapped his wife/daughte
.ID: hezugyqLol true.
In a interview I remember the Village team said that even Hunk is not match to Ethan "fatherly love".
(The question was how much it will take Hunk to rescue Rose I think )
ID: hezyvl2The Grim Reaper always returns.

Specifically RE2 Leon? Cause he might struggle a bit. Might even be beaten. But, Ethan pales in comparison to the unspeakable horrors Leon has faced down in his time since 2. Leon defeated Krauser and Sadler in 1v1's even managing to keep pace with Krauser's transformation. Leon is no slouch in a gun fight either. Ethan's advantage would be his durability. Where a modern Leon holds every other advantage. Speed, strength, experience, skill, equipment, one liners. Leon's only equal is Chris.
-
Want to say leon so badly but problably would end up being modly locks....then again leon did kill a good amount of big bad bows....with moldy boi being such a family man he may be more careful in a fight....leon being a single man with nothing much to live for...he tends to fight more dangerously he does not hold back....
ID: hf049fsDepends if Leon took his daughter lol
Dude was able to fight without a freaking heart for a while because he wanted his daughter back
-
I love Leon, but I gotta go with the golden mold, because well, he's indestructible.
ID: hez9v0dIf we’re talking about Leon as a whole, not solely RE2, I think that his 20+ years of dealing with bioweapons gives him an upper-hand. Although Ethan is resilient, I don’t think that resiliency has ever stopped Leon from coming out on top.
ID: hf01iwnThe Bakers died just fine. So did Ethan, for that matter.
ID: hezo2ecidk I think he could suplex mold to death
ID: hezo870But F A T H E R H O O D

I'm thinking if Leon were in Resident 7 and 8, the dismemberments would be replaced by narrow dodges and escapes. Ethan bumbles his way through the games, bolstered by his regen powers, whereas Leon dodges them.
On the reverse, it's hilarious to imagine Ethan reattaching his head after Salvador chainsaws him in RE4.
I guess the tricky part of the question (in overthinking it, haha) is that Leon and Ethan both surmount insane odds, and could easily be in each other's games. They both have the title of "Resident Evil Protagonist," so their power level is roughly the same. They're not Dante or the Master Chief, but they put in good work (I'm betting they'd have a fighting chance in the GEARS universe, since Resi 6 is "Gears of Zombies.")
I'd honestly like to see the battle go either way: Leon putting up a valiant fight against a RE Protagonist (with regen powers), then Ethan sparing him (because good guy), or Leon's agility and training overcoming Ethan's "bullet sponge" mold insanity.
ID: hf0naveEthan would be screwed in the re4 campaign lol think all the boulder dodging, lazer room athletic shit, or jumping over canyons. Would be funny to see ethan fight krauser and just tank every slash lmao
ID: hf0nui3Lmao, yes, Ethan would probably just get his legs crushed by the boulder, then have to drag himself while he regenerates. And Krauser runs out of knives and arrows because they're all stuck in Ethan.
"Your right hand comes off, too?"
"Wait, what?"
-
At the end of the day, Ethan would be just another BOW that Leon put down.
-
Leon because 20+ years experience and has been specially trained by the government.
ID: hezlp97Same
-
Leon would win, Ethan lacks the finesse Leon has polished over his many years of fighting
-
With weapons or not?
If barehanded then Ethan cuz as we know a mere human will not be able to actually do dmg beyond what Ethan faced and survived. So even if outmatched in skills he will simply eventually get the upper hand.
With weapons is different.
I think Leon can take the win due his long time expertise with weapons ... weapons only way to deplete Ethan stamina. But again it would be a fight to be careful against any damage as counterattack cuz Ethan has been even impaled and continued fighting ( lady D does this to Ethan when he grabs the specal knife)....
Like he could apparently gun Ethan down then Ethan would recover and shoots Leon ( by surprise) and GG.
-
I mean I don’t see why Ethan would be different from any of the others BOW bosses Leon has fought before. And if we include movies Leon is just stupid OP
ID: hf0eju3I've said this to others, but I feel how long Ethan would last depends on where his family is during this fight. Because if they are his motivation, Leon would have a much harder time
Ethan survived without a heart just to save his daughter, and only once she was safe could he give up
ID: hf1qfpgPeople keep talking about how Ethan kept going without a heart, losing limbs, etc but they forget the intense pain he still felt from those injuries and the fact that losing his heart put him down for the count for practically the whole night (he went down just after sunset, beats the boss just before sunrise)
-
I don't think the molded are anything outside the range of what Leon can handle. Plus, it doesn't seem to take much to at least incompacitate Ethan. A few shots to the head would like buy Leon a few minutes (or even hours) to come up with a plan. It's also possible to kill Ethan by inflicting enough damage that he starts to flake away like the Bakers did. He was practically at that point by the end of RE8 anyway.
-
A lot of people here either really like Ethan or never played an RE with Leon other than 2. Leon dont give a fuck if its a BOW, he’s taken on much worse. Hell, even if you take the “fair” out and only include his RE2 skills, he was able to hold off Mr.X long enough to get the rocket launcher. Im pretty confident that Mr. X is more durable than Ethan
-
The one writers decide as winner.
-
If it is Ethan vs RE2 Leon than Ethan
If it is Ethan vs RE4 Leon than Leon
This fight would be tough due to Ethan mold so it’s a close call
-
Leon would win especially after RE2. Ethan being more indestructible has nothing to do with his offensive capabilities.
-
Ethan? He couldn’t even beat forest.
-
“Leoon”’in Ashley’s annoying voice from RE4
-
Well.. One is technically a BOW sooooo. Leon right?
-
Leon has actually training. Ethan is kinda immortal though
-
Leon
-
Leon
-
I mean… Ethan got his hand cut off and just like.. stuck it back on.. my monies on him.
ID: hezywecYeah, but Ethan still needs time (and first-aid) to heal. He only managed to reattach his hand after escaping from Lady D. It also doesn't take much to incompacitate Ethan either. I imagine a few shots to the head would put him down for a long enough time for Leon to work out a solution.
The games seem kinda inconsistant with how much damage mold infected individuals can handle, but I'm pretty sure Ethan can still burn to death.
ID: hf0ec8jThe games seem kinda inconsistant with how much damage mold infected individuals can handle
I think it's a lot more simple. Ethan only really lost limbs, and we know from RE7 molded could survive that. However when Ethan loses his heart, he starts falling apart, only surviving on pure determination. So the question remains, are they fighting because of Ethan's family or not?
-
Ethan is mold. He literally got his heart took out and survived. He takes Leon easy
ID: hf0hqgzSurvived is a strong word. We saw him flaking away just like the Baker's even before the ending. His determination to find rose is the only thing that kept him going.
He also never regrew the fingers he lost so it's not like he just auto regenerates his parts.
Also, Ethan has zero training. Leon has had multiple decades to train and refine.
Incapacitate Ethan, burn his body, done.
-
If we're talking about peak Leon, I'll just point out that Leon has dealt with plenty of monsters far more powerful than just being able to survive having their heart removed.

To be honest every time Ethan meets Chris , Ethan gets sneak attacked by Chris or by one of his crew member.
