I was always sad they used China and India in their chronicles series. Those were some of my picks to make a full length game about but I don’t think that’s gonna happen since they’ve been used already
ID: hibut8rI’ve wanted a samurai AC for about a decade, but Ghost of Tsushima is about as close to modern AC games as you can get so that seems unlikely now.
ID: hibcsvhSo many possibilities in China. The founding of the Han, the Three Kingdoms, War of eight princes, various points in the mongol invasion/occupation. The list goes on!

Might as well just make a new IP at that point
ID: hianh28They should’ve done that for every AC after Syndicate imo.
At this point the only reason Ubisoft writes AC on their games is for brand recognition and to sell more copies not bc it’s actually an AC game.
Edit: seems like I hit a nerve for many people here. I didn’t hate the new games but I make a clear distinction here. AC to me is primarily a stealth game and not an action RPG. I like the games after Syndicate for what they are, as a huge history nerd I love the worlds they built. This is part of the reason why I started disliking the sci fi part. Not because it’s bad (it’s actually pretty cool) but because it throws me out of my history simulator.
ID: hib0xwmThis. I like games with cool historical settings, and to some extent I get the name recognition thing, but the last time I cared about the present day story was the end of the Desmond arc.
ID: hibaxb8Bingo. The only reason Ubisoft is trying to make a battle royale out of Ghost Recon is because their original IP battle royale game, Hyperscape, flopped. Now they’re just trying again with an already established franchise.

I believe the original developers specifically said there would never be a WWII Assassin’s Creed. The whole point of the series was to explore the eras of history that aren’t seen much in video games.
ID: hidxgr9eras of history that aren’t seen much in video games.
So you're telling me there's a chance we get an AC game set in the 30 years war era? Because I've never seen that era given any attention in video games outside of EU4.

Assassin's Creed: Straying further from the original idea
ID: hiaovw4It feels like Desmond died and they were like “What now?”
ID: hibdfriI love the story behind Assassin’s Creed because I was not only those historical figures, I was Desmond who was living those lives to fight the same fight and everything else in between. Now I feel like I’ve lost that personal connection to the character I’m playing
ID: hib09ipAssassins creed: afterlife
ID: hiasv3zHe wasn't supposed to die in the first place, that was the beginning of them fuckin' with shit.
ID: hiasoipBurying Desmond is the first step
ID: hiaqw7mThat's what happens when you have a series that's 30 games long

Hidden shovel

Yea this game already exists, its called Sniper Elite. Why would anyone bother using a hidden blade when you can take out your target reliably from a kilometer away?
ID: hiav9bsIt’s called The Saboteur
ID: hiaw421The true answer. Fun game too. Even has parkour
-
Will it have David Schwimmer in it?
-
Who are they gonna assasinate? The Nazi Templars?!?
-
I’d like to see games featuring lesser known (at least when referring to commercial entertainment) important parts of History. I know they sort of did one for the Russian Revolution, I think it would have been cool to see Prohibition era America, late 1400s Spain, the Napoleonic Wars, WW2 on the Mediterranean front, the Indian independence movement, the opium wars, there’s so many global events that tend to get glossed over that would make some cool settings.

I want a full on Templar Creed game. Sometimes I wanna be evil
ID: hiahs9jAssassin’s Creed: Rogue might fill that void if you haven’t played it.
ID: hias4s0I dunno. I loved Rogue, but Shay isn't evil. He also converted sides because of what the Assassins had him do that caused the events of the game and wanted him to keep doing it. If I'm going to play as a Templar, I'd like it to be one that has been on the Templars side the entire time, and believes everything they do is good. I want the bad guy doing evil things but thinking what they are doing is good, kind of Templar game.

The fuck is this

I'm gonna sound like an asshole, but no. Enough WWII games. How about Mughal India? Persia? Africa? Aztec Mexico? Incan Peru? Russian Revolution? Siam? So many fascinating eras in history. So many historical figures to work with. Something a bit different. Don't get me wrong, that looks like a very cool cover, but something different. This has been done to death.
ID: hib5841That's it! I really wish for an AC in the Aztec or Mongolian timeline Another good one would be the Goths
ID: hib9x21Russian revolution I’d love that
ID: hiba5ruRoman-Gallic wars would get my vote. Fantastic chance for a good timeline and some epic battles.
Edit: should also add that it fits the AC model of “Order vs. Freedom.”
-
Wow this would be so shit

No thanks

'Sergeant, why does Private Jones always fight the Germans with his shovel, and not his Thompson Submachine gun?'

Another game where Americans are super soldiers and all Germans are cannon fodder and 100% evil? How original
